The session will be chaired by Professor Are Magnus Bruaset, with contributions from Chief Research Scientist Shaukat Ali, Professor Carlos Cid, PhD student Eñaut Mendiluze and PhD student Asmar Muqeet.
Whether you are a quantum technology enthusiast or simply curious about the future of computing, this deep-tech session will provide valuable insights into the state of quantum technology.
AI for Quantum & Quantum for AI: The interplay between quantum computing and AI holds great potential. To this end, this talk will first cover how AI techniques developed at Simula enable reliable quantum software development on IBM’s quantum computers. It will then discuss the potential of quantum AI in the healthcare domain, particularly demonstrating one of its applications in the Cancer Registry of Norway, followed by a discussion on future applications, including breast cancer detection.
Quantum-safe Communication: Emerging quantum technologies will have an immense impact on how we communicate securely. On the one hand, the advent of large-enough quantum computers means that the main public-key cryptographic algorithms in current use will become completely insecure and will need to be replaced in our IT systems. On the other hand, developments in quantum communication networks and devices open up the way for novel protocols for secure communications. This talk will discuss the threat of quantum computers to today’s cryptography, and the different solutions being developed for protecting communications in a quantum world.
