Space has become critical infrastructure for both security and sustainability. Satellites provide the data and connectivity needed to monitor climate change, track emissions and natural disasters, protect oceans and critical infrastructure, and support emergency preparedness. At the same time, space-based services are increasingly essential for national security, navigation, communication and situational awareness in an uncertain geopolitical landscape. As society becomes more dependent on digital systems and global connectivity, space technology is no longer distant future technology — it is a fundamental part of everyday life and resilience.

KSAT (Kongsberg Satellite Services) is a world-leading provider of satellite communication and Earth observation services, operating one of the world’s most advanced global ground station networks. From strategically placed stations in the Arctic, Antarctica and across the globe, KSAT enables real-time communication with satellites, supporting everything from climate monitoring and maritime surveillance to defense, emergency response and secure communications.

With hundreds of antennas across more than 40 locations, KSAT delivers critical services for spacecraft operations, launch support and data downlinking, making space infrastructure accessible “as a service” for governments, commercial operators and international space agencies.

As part of the Norwegian KONGSBERG ecosystem and co-owned by Space Norway, KSAT plays a vital role in strengthening Europe’s technological sovereignty and demonstrating how space has become essential infrastructure for modern society — enabling navigation, weather forecasting, environmental monitoring, security, connectivity and informed decision-making on Earth.
