TU and Kongsberg Agenda organize Tech Awards

    - We are very happy with Kongsberg Agenda, they are a great partner and a great arena. It is a compact event, so you get a lot done in a short time. This is the Arendal Week of technology, says editor-in-chief and CEO Jan M. Moberg in Teknisk Ukeblad.

    - Kongsberg is the technology city. And it is quite natural for us to follow what is happening there. When Kongsberg Agenda saw the light of day, we wanted to be involved. We had already been there several times and recorded a couple of episodes of the podcast "Technically speaking", so we know the Kongsberg environment very well, says Moberg.

    Unique city - unique arena

He believes Kongsberg as a city is completely unique.

    - There are major players in Kongsberg who, put at the forefront, do not need much more than the export market. Large parts of the industry are export-oriented products, and here there is a huge potential to showcase that.

Moberg has good memories from the previous years under Agenda, but some of the most striking was during last year's agenda.

    - Given the war in Ukraine, it was liberating that a NAMSAS battery - an internationally fantastic defense product, was exhibited - that there is an arena where it was appropriate to do so. In addition, the presentation of the Tech Awards, which the Minister of Trade and Industry took care of, went very well.

During this year's agenda, Moberg is ready to record several podcast episodes, at the same time as moving parts of the editorial staff to Kongsberg.

    - There is good access to expert sources, while it is a nice arena to showcase our brand.

    Tech Awards

    - What do you hope to get out of participating in Kongsberg Agenda?

    - The Norwegian Tech Awards saw the light of day in 2000, and we have actually looked around for a good partner for this concept. We have held the awards ceremony ourselves and held it in other places, but Kongsberg Agenda – which is so technology-oriented – is almost perfect for this. Beyond that, it is exciting for TU to be there editorially, there is access to many good sources, cases and a large network.

The Norwegian Tech Awards are awarded to honor and promote good Norwegian technology companies that create products and solutions that deserve international attention. When Kongsberg Agenda starts on Wednesday 19 June, six candidates have been nominated to win the prestigious award. At the same time as the agenda kicks off, a jury, consisting of knowledgeable people with good knowledge of the technological environment in Norway, will choose a winner.

    - The finalists come from all over the country, and anyone can submit proposals. One company gets the top prize, while the others get a diploma, says Moberg, adding: - Kongsberg Agenda is important and scores on several dimensions. It's great to find a sensible haven for the Tech Awards concept, together with someone who understands it and can invest in it with us.
