Ishita Barua’s Contribution
Ishita Barua, a Norwegian doctor with a PhD in artificial intelligence in medicine from the University of Oslo, will in her introduction specifically highlight areas where Norway can learn from Finland. Barua is an award-winning AI researcher who has conducted research at Harvard Medical School. She is also the author of the book "Artificial Intelligence Saves Lives - AI is the New Superpower of Doctors". Currently, she is a tech entrepreneur and serves as the medical director at Livv Health.
Cristina Andersson’s Contribution
From Finland, Cristina Andersson will participate. In her introduction, she will shed light on areas where Finland has gained a technological edge, particularly within the healthcare sector. Finland has successfully established a national system for digital health records, attracts skilled researchers and innovation companies, and ranks among the world’s best in adopting new technology to address societal challenges. Andersson is an entrepreneur, technology expert, and consultant specializing in the strategic use of artificial intelligence and robotics in businesses and organizations. She has served as an advisor to the EU, national projects in Finland, and the Nordic Council of Ministers’ expert group on ethics in artificial intelligence.
Panel Debate
The panel debate will feature Ishita Barua and Cristina Andersson alongside representatives from Norway Health Tech and key Norwegian politicians. Through their discussion, they will explore what Finland has done successfully that Norway can emulate. Is it a matter of differing investments in research and education, adaptability, organizational structure, or decision-making processes?
